Type D national visa - step-by-step guide
Type D national visa is a document that allows legal residence in Poland for more than 90 days. It is issued for the following purposes: work, study, research, business, family reunification or study, among others.
The process of obtaining this visa requires submitting an application to the consulate of the Republic of Poland or at Visa Application Reception Point (PPVA). The choice of location depends on your region of residence and available dates.

How to register an application?
Registration of an application to the PPVA follows the steps below:
- Specify the destination and select the type of visa (D - long-term).
- Make a service charge at your bank (Credo Bank or Idea Bank).
- You will receive an individual PTN code - it allows you to register online.
- The system will assign you an appointment. The call center will call to confirm the date.
Attention: If you reject the proposed date twice, the PTN code is deactivated and the fee refunded.

Costs, waiting time and decision
For citizens of Ukraine, a national type D visa is free. For other foreigners, the fee is 80 euros. Processing time is usually 6 working days, but in exceptional cases it can take up to 30 days. In urgent cases - a decision can be issued in as little as 3 days.
The passport with the decision can be picked up in person at the same facility where the application was submitted.
Visa refusal - what to do?
In the case of a refusal, it is possible to apply for reconsideration - at the same facility, within 14 days. Ukrainian citizens file it free of charge, other foreigners must pay 80 euros.
Reimbursement of study fees when visa is denied
The reimbursement depends solely on the rules of the university. Public universities are guided by the law, private universities by their own rules and regulations. The consulate does not participate in these procedures - if necessary, a claim can be made civilly.

Important notes
- Enter a valid phone number - an incorrect number will prevent contact and registration.
- Do not make multiple payments - only the first one will be considered.
- The Bank may not condition the acceptance of the service fee on the purchase of other services.
